Comparisons of Dental Arches and Crowdings between Musical Wind-instrument Player Groups and Nonwind-instrument Player Groups

Abstract
|
|
|
To compare the lateral cephalometric measurements between wind instrument player groups and non wind instrument player group. We selected 65 male wind instrument players and 18 male non wind instrument players.
The results were as follows;
1) Only SNA was of statistical significance in the measurement comparisions between class A, class B and non wind instrument player group.
2) The mean value of SNA was smaller in Class A than Class B (class A: 80.8±3.4˚, class B: 8.3±4.2˚). (P < 0.05)
3) The numbers of both class C and class D wind instrument players were too small to compare statistically, so they were excluded.
